"looked past differences to see the person underneath and treat him without discrimination." way to spend all day talking about discrimination in California and then use gender biased language.
its sad and pathetic that people actually think that this is not what politics are about. if you think that just because Obama is a celebrity and an inspirational speaker that he hasn't lied and stretched the truth then you are sadly mistaken. Welcome to the real world. Why don't you all start using your brains and pick a candidate not based on their children or their college pictures or how many actors they can get to endorse them. Pick someone who cares about the same issues you care about. And if after exploring ALL of the issues you still feel like a little bit of you isn't part democrat AND republican, then you're not done exploring.
its a little ridiculous to expect nbc to mention that he's gay. i never heard the announcer say, "and here is misty may treanor who is straight." there is a term for this and its called internalized victimization... which means you feel like everyone is snubbing gay people because you're gay even in instances when it is not happening. he isnt a USA athlete so of course they didn't show his significant other. I didn't see any of the Chinese athletes' significant others even though they won the majority of the gold medals.
