The fact is, marriage is a religious conception adopted by governments in order to organize and tax families. The law should be equal and adopt civil unions as the status quo for both heterosexual and homosexual unions. It is undeniable that homosexuality, whatever your beliefs on its origination, is not going away and the numbers are growing. People cannot, and should not be denied basic human rights... 6 states thus far agree and more are to come.

At the end of the day, no matter how unjustified and or ignorant the argument of those who do not agree with homosexuality may be, denying the rights of this group is simply wrong. Luckily, we do live in a country where freedom of speech and thought are praised and as such people like Miss California may maintain their opinions while not denying rights or excluding others.... and really, homosexuality is not going to go away just because a majority chooses to suppress their rights. Once again kids, look at the history books and educate yourself.
