yeah that's pretty standard. if they ever did anything really shady with it they would get into more trouble than it's worth. if people don't use facebook, then they don't make any money. why would they do anything purposely malicious with your personal stuff? they aren't evil geniuses, cackling and drumming their fingertips together plotting how to take over the world.
