He doesn't mean does she have actual chops. He means playing chops. As in, is she any good at playing flute.

It took her 10 years to play that badly? I played the flute in high school and college, and can say that was not very good. Her sound is too airy, the tuning is off (as in off key) and she clearly must not have practiced much in those 10 years ... she sounds like a middle schooler.

Guess they don't offer instrument lessons in Alaska ...
