wait wait wait. a little kindness for leanne, here. a) marriage is started with 2 people and is ended by 2 people; b) nobody outside of a marriage can really understand the dynamics; and b) i don't think anyone understands just hard forever-commitment is unless you've done it. there is nothing in the world lonelier than being in an unfulfilling marriage. big compassion to both dean and leanne.
you know what makes me sad about this? here is what makes me sad:
it makes me sad that because of recording technology (Can't hold pitch? No problem! We'll make you sound like you can!) and our culture's weird fame issue, people with no real musical abilities can become "rockstars." while people with extraordinary musical abilities, who are true musicians, write incredible music, have terrific voices (with or without the aid of a pitch assist), struggle in obscurity.
i heard pratt's single. have heard heidi's. they're so overprocessed and manufactured, we might as well be listening to robots. there's nothing genuine or meaningful about it. no substance. vacant. it contributes nothing. and that makes me sad.
you know, she really is talented. in an industry full of manufactured stars -- who don't write music, don't play instruments, and can't sing without electronic assistance -- brooke really is a good deal. i think she tries to push an image that doesn't suit her. wish she'd drop the urban street hip hop thing and focus on being a singer-songwriter.
she seems to be a genuinely kind person. i hope she succeeds.
