No parent/brother/sister/cousin/aunt/uncle wants the little girls in their life to look up to someone like her, who is suppose to be a role model. Those that pass judgment on what she's been doing are not being "prudes." We are simply putting it out there that minors should stop making themselves appealing to pedophiles or getting themselves knocked up; God forbid something worse than either of those happen to them because of how they want to express themselves.
I can somewhat understand the defenses made for her provocative moves because it's true; kids her age do indeed dance like that at high school dances. I was one of them. However, there is a very, and I feel like I have to emphasize this, VERY big difference between Miley Cyrus and the high school kids. She started her career on the Disney Channel; they are known for the wholesome teenagers/children they hire. If you are a celebrity, sadly, you are not treated like us "normal" people. She is constantly in the public eye and whether she likes it or not, her actions and words are going to be scrutinized. That is the life she chose and there is nobody else to blame for that. Children look up to her, which I have no idea why, but they do. If you call yourself a role model, which she has and does, then yes, her actions have indeed been "slutty." High school kids are not celebrities and they do not have to worry about being a good influence or example for thousands, maybe even millions, of little girls. Yes, Miley is only a teenager and obviously she is going to try to push away from her little kid boundaries but since she is getting paid WAY more than she should, she needs to suck it up and keep her supposed "innocence" image until she's no longer a minor.
Wow, I'm glad there are a couple of assholes who take the time to make racist comments on a video of a little boy dancing, who happens to be African-American.
You need to stop calling people ignorant because if you have forgotten, a BABY was EATEN by his MOTHER. Apologies if people don't react on sympathy for the guilty. I do not ridicule those who are mentally ill and I genuinely feel for them, BUT I do believe that once you reach a point where you cannot or should not be in the company of other beings, that is when someone, the government, family members, or friends should step in. Screw the law. Fight to save that person's life and potentially, someone else's.
There is a difference between being mentally insane and not comprehending what you're doing or just being completely psycho. There have been a number of serial killers, who have been fully capable of processing their thoughts and actions and understanding them. Wouldn't you call them psycho? People aren't calling this woman all these names out of lack of empathy for an illness, but moreso because of the amount of disgust they feel for the actions she committed and the sympathy they feel for the DEAD child. She may be mentally unstable, but SOMEONE should have done something to prevent this from ever happening. I pity her because I cannot imagine what it's like to go through something like this, but it's not an excuse. She needed help, and someone should have forced her to seek it. I don't care what they would have had to do; if we take the necessary precautions, we could prevent certain deaths from happening. I will add though, I do not support the death penalty and I do not believe an eye for an eye is the answer but she should rot in prison or a maximum guarded institution.
