The fact that he is gay or straight has nothing to do with the Olympics, his ability to perform in them, and his sexual preference is NOBODY'S BUSINESS but his own. By not mentioning his choice I think it means we are actually one step closer to equality. Mentioning it would only have meant that they were pointing out an obvious difference between a hetero athlete and a gay athlete, which would have caused a bigger deal. Frankly Perez, you'd be whining if NBC DID mention the he is gay - this would have been more homophobic that what they chose to do.
