on The Price Of Fresh Breath at 15:41 10/14/2008I'm a dentist. Chlorhexidine is a great anti-bacterial agent. It can stain -- but it only stains plaque and bacteria. Not teeth. If you're having staining from mouthwash, what it means is that you aren't brushing well enough to get the plaque off in the first place. Your dental hygienist can get the stains off for you via a cleaning and then you will also know where your hygiene needs improvement.
