All you people who keep saying "Ohh she's only 14/15/16" need to stop with the faux-outrage. It's tiring and idiotic. A picture of Taylor Momsen in a skirt is not the same as a 5 year old getting raped, okay? Kiddie porn, give me a break. I'm sorry, I don't care if she's 5 years old or 20 years old.. if you're dressed like that you're ASKING to be sexualized. Blame her parents, not Perez. Fuck off.
This is idiotic, Perez. Quoting yourself? Seriously? Is your ego that fucking huge?
I even tend to agree with you about the gay marriage thing but damn you go about it like a fucking toddler. Has it ever occurred to you that your "rights" and "privileges" are as arbitrarily determined as the gay marriage ban is? Marriage itself is a fucking artificial institution to begin with. So of course you should be able to do it but lambasting this girl for disagreeing with you only makes you look like a insecure fucking tool. You lost shitloads of my respect.
Yeah, that's a good point.. it probably is a bit irresponsible. But I think it'd send a much more powerful message to an impressionable child to have an entire stadium of his or her peers booing CB off the stage than it would for the parent-like network execs to pull him out of the running and try to sweep it all under the rug without even giving the kids an outlet.. without even letting them air their own grievances. I think kids probably know beating women is wrong, there's probably a lot of pissed off ex-Chris Brown fans in that audience.
Then again, I'm no child psychologist and it may be the dumbest move in Nickelodeon's history. If Chris Brown does win an award, it will definitely send an awful message.. it's risky. Nevertheless, the idea of seeing what the kids do with all of it interests me.
Perez, I love you but you're being an idiot. Nickelodeon is actually doing what they purport to do: LETTING THE KIDS DECIDE. My guess is that once Chris Brown is read off as a nominee you'll hear some booing. Let the kids decide what they think is appropriate. It'll be an interesting experiment. If he wins after all this hullabaloo, THEN it's time to start worrying about where are society's going. Your immature exhortation to "BOYCOTT NICKELODEON!!" will accomplish nothing.
