A couple days ago my five year old asked my a question, and it sparked a bit of a disscussion.
He asked " Mommy, do some boys marry girls when they grow up?" I said "Yes honey." He asked " Do some boys marry boys?" I said "Yes honey." He asked" Do Some girls marry girls?" I said "Yes honey." He asked " Why do people get married?" I said " because they love each other." He replied . "Oh...I love you mommy, can I marry you?" I said " No honey, that's against the law because I'm your mommy." He said. " Okay,... then I wanna marry Dora"
It was a simple, easy conversation. It didn't change who my son is or who he percieves himself to be. It didn't alter his universe in any way shape or form. I don't understand what everybody is so afraid of.
Even the bloody Sex Pistols.....
