someone can be against gay marriage without trying to take away rights from other people. everyone is entitled to their own beliefs without enforcing their beliefs on others. he never said he would take away rights or though that gays and lesbians didn't have the same rights as everyone else.
and yes Perez voted for Obama/ Biden as opposed to voting for McCain/ Palin. McCain and Palin wanted to take away rights from more than just the gays and change the constitution while they were at it. Obama and Biden as Christians don't believe in gay marriage but they wouldn't allow their religious beliefs to dictate how they treated people in this country.

i completely agree with you. what Laurad said was beyond ignorant and completely incompetent. ANIMALS? really? Marriage is an agreement between two willing people. thats all. and everyone should have the same rights. its sad that its a state problem instead of a federal one. and its sad that people think they have the right to turn their nose up at anyone and tell them that they don't deserve the same rights as everyone else. who the hell do these people think they are? i completely agree with you. religion is an opinion and NO ONE has the right to inforce their beliefs on anyone else. thats oppressive and discriminatory and i wonder when this country will stop being so hateful and realize that everyone deserves the same rights and happiness no matter who they are.

oh hunnie apparently you haven't been around too many military people. they will give them a hard time and worse. they already do, when someone is different. women even have a super hard time.
don't ask don't tell is a stupid policy and people should be able to serve openly but unfortunately not everyone is as open minded, and Obama is trying to weigh out the options to see what can be done that will be fair while also protecting those that are serving our country from the people in the military that can cause them harm.
i agree with everyone else here in saying that the economy and the war itself is a much bigger issue than the "don't ask don't tell policy itself" all these things will change in due time. in the meantime theres wayyy more important issues to be dealing with.
gay rights are one of those major issues but that has nothing to do with the President, especially not the President Elect who has yet to take office. everyone should contact their own states to get the ball rolling.
go emily!!! he's a stud muffin.
