on Idol Judge Fired!!!! at 11:46 08/04/2009I'd like to make a correction to this article - Kyle Sandilands is NOT a DJ. He is a radio announcer (a shock jock, if you will). Kyle wouldn't know talent if it bit him on the ass. I don't understand why the Idol producers hired him to judge talent. And with the show starting its new season next week, who are they going to replace him with?

on Dakota Fanning As Cherie Currie - With Cherie Currie! at 12:10 07/30/2009Great casting. I'm a Runaways fan from waaaay back, and I'm glad to see Cherie having some input into the movie. Shame that Lita and Joan couldn't settle their differences. I'm wondering what the music is gonna sound like, are the actresses performing the music, or is somebody else doing that?

on Bummer In The Summer For The Kids Down Under at 23:30 06/18/2009Here in Australia economists recently announced that we have avoided falling into a "recession" in the true sense of the word. Yes, times are tight, but I think the mistake NKOTB (or their promoters) made was booking them into stadium sized venues. If they had opted for smaller venues, the tour may have gone ahead. Besides, they're competing with upcoming tours from Pink, Katy Perry, Simon & Garfunkel, Britney Spears, and our own legend John Farnham who's on the comeback trail.

on No, Really! Shut Up, Gordon! at 21:58 06/09/2009For the record - Ms Grimshaw is not gay. Even if she was, what right does that give Gordon Ramsey to publicly "out" her? Ramsay's double standards show him for the hypocrite he is - during his Australian tour, he stipulated to journos that he was not to be asked about his private life. Yet it seems no such conditions apply to him when it comes to discussing somebody else's private life. And his "apology" (if you can call it that) came from his agent, not him. What a man!

on Punk Legend Diagnosed With Multiple Sclerosis at 19:47 06/03/2009I wish Exene the best for her future. Another rock singer, Australian Chrissie Amphlett of The Divinyls ("I Touch Myself") revealed last year that she was also diagnosed with MS. While Divinyls only had one hit in the US, they were one of the biggest bands of the 80s and early 90s here in Australia. Chrissie also played the role of Judy Garland in the original stage version of "The Boy From Oz", the musical about Peter Allen.
