I was thrilled to see Obama win. However, my elation was shortlived. California, how could you? We are the progressive state, liberal, open-minded. If your definition of marriage is one thing, that's fine, don't deny other people their rights. Gays are not second-class citizens. We have not come far at all from the days where blacks and whites couldn't get married. How is this Ok? Marriage means two people who love each other unconditionally and want to share that love with their friends and family and want to be recognized as a couple by the law. MY definition has nothing to do with God and the Bible. If yours does, then great. But since I am not baptized, I am not recognized in the bible, does that mean I can't get married? NO. This proposition was over- turned 8 years ago and hopefully, it will happen again. I just don't understand how people can hate and think it is OK. This is discrimination no matter what supporters say. You get spoiled living near San Francisco, with all the acceptance and love. I'm sick to my stomach over this.
