Proposition 8 is outdated and its sad that it was passed. However, the fact of the matter is, today the court was ruling on whether it was constitutional for the citizens of California to amend their constitution. The answer to that is yes. American citizens should be able to amend the constitution, that is the whole premise of our country. It is extremely unfortunate that this ruling is affecting the civil rights of gay men and women and hopefully proposition 8 will be overturned eventually. People just need to realize what this ruling was actually about today.
