I absolutely agree with your answer -- she should have definitely taken a more neutral stand on the issue to be a role model to EVERYBODY. Personally, I am a straight Christian, and I feel that gays should have the same rights as I do! If you don't believe in gay marriage simply because you're homophobic, then you're just plain wrong. I ALMOST understand those who don't believe in it because they think people will go to hell and they want to 'save their souls.' Although, if you're not gay, you're not the one 'going to hell' so how is it even your problem or business? But then again, we all have our own thoughts when it comes to God. I believe that God created each and every one of us and wouldn't be upset about any form of loving one another. But aside from that, aren't church and state supposed to be separated? Why are we basing laws on a religious belief -- that man and woman are the only 'right' way to form a union? Bottom line, we are all SUPPOSED to be equal -- regardless of our gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, etc. Everybody should have the equal right to marry the one they love and if anybody has a problem with it, just look the other way, no one is saying that if gay marriage is legalized that they have to marry someone of the same sex! And if you honestly believe God would send someone he created to hell because of the way he created them -- well, I just have nothing to say about that! xoxo Perez!
