...make sure you write your congressman and or woman if you're so concerned. However, be careful, I say that 97% of the House of Representatives is straight...better be careful you don't catch that 3% of gay/lesbian/bi-sexual representatives...I can't even type anymore on this... its so frustrating to still see gays in the limelight in such a negative way. Shameful to be an American at this point, but I look forward to the future with enthusiasm and hope.

WOW!!! Perez seriously...you are very composed for having to listen to that kind of banter. I already sent letters to my house rep....ill send more. This is CRAZY CRAZY stuff going on, and as a gay man I completely sympathize with our side. It IS about equality, it IS about the fact that regardless of what these straight men and women say it still shines a negative light on ourselves and the lifestyles we live. Regardless if you ask a child at the age of six by law whether he will be with a man or woman, it is implied by society that it is taboo to be gay, that doors are shut on you, that your life won't hold as much meaning. In recent light the suicides of innocent children not even age 13 is terrible! This was going to be the end of my comment, but I glanced down and saw the first comment from Major Dude. Someone who took the time to come to YOUR website, that you blog on...and took the time to enter an email (or make one up) and to come on here and attack you with written word about your continued idiocy and how he can only sympathize with the aspect of not being able to visit your spouse in the hospital...hey Major Dude...check this out and this is for the rest of you too...Go fuck yourselves.
