If an addict overdoses its typically considered the addicts fault. I know countless families who've lost loved ones to overdose and it is not typical to prosecute the dealer. As such we shouldn't prosecute an MD for writing a prescription. Medicine has saved more lives than the ones who've abused it. There are warnings attached to every prescription and it is time people take personal responsibility. When one chooses to use a multitude of Dr.s for prescription abuse its the fault of the user not the fault of the MD or the boyfriend who picks it up--under an alias...um....famous people use alias'. I gave the POPO the address and number of the man who sold my brother the heroin that killed him. But they aren't interested. This charade is about politics, money and leading the public to believe that life is fair and justice always served, that we don't have to take responsibility for the liability of life or our personal choices. Her family may have been negligent in witnessing her use (for alleged seizures, sleeplessness, anxiety, depression etc.), but she still didn't have to take what the Washington Post states as "a pharmacopeia of at least nine drugs (found) in her body". Its a sad, horrible situation. But taking out anger will only breed more anger. Let it go.
