I don't understand how it's insulting. I'm graduating college in 2010 and I know exactly who they are and their music. I'm not sure I actually know any friends that don't know who they are.
It's not always Perez writing, but it still could be. His mom and his sister help out on the site as well. Regardless, it's just a mistake. It's very doubtful that he's using this story for publicity. His site is geared towards celebrity gossip. The more detailed, first-hand gossip he gets would be the more likely ones to help gain publicity. All the other stories (the economic statuses of business, odd headlines, etc) are just an accessory. I'm pretty sure this story alone isn't the one attracting all the hits this site gets.
Are you guys (and Perez) serious? This isn't a jab at Taylor to me. It's a jab at Miley. Miley's "7 Things" is undoubtly about Nick Jonas and all full of "hate". Taylor hasn't even come out with anything yet. Plus, Taylor and Selena were more friends at one point than Miley and her ever were.
