This makes me so proud to be a NewYORKER...this is the future of america. The song was beautiful! Theres a lot to be said when so many different races, religions, and genders can be together in one place and create such a beautiful song! Children dont see any of those things they just see their friends! We should learn from there example!

actually there use to be an interracial ban back in the days where people of African American and Latin descent could not marry whites. People realized how dumb it was and had it overturned. Too bad theres too many religious bigots in CA to allow people equal rights.

I hate when people quote"the bible says" don't you get that gay/ lesbian couples are not asking for the right to marry in a church they are asking for the right to marry in a court. Don't you realize that this country is suppose to be separate church and state and that the state should have no right to deny rights based on religious beliefs which is the reason that abortion is legal. Gays/ lesbians just want the protections that marriage ensures that civil unions do not. Like when a spouse passes away in a marriage everything (property and children) go to the other spouse where as when a civil union partner passes everything can go to the family of the person that passes including property and children not to the other civi union partner. Civil unions do not give couples the same rights, you cant share health care, you cant get alimony. You think with the number of divorces that CHURCHES recognize that people would not have a problem with allowing two people who love each other to marry, not say no you cant marry cuz your gay/ lesbian. But these two straight people can and oh two years later realized they dont love each other and got a divorce. Such a sacred union. ha. Stop mixing religious beliefs with politics! Straight and NO on h8te!
