The Times will never die. And this nasty little article, while bringing up good points, doesn't take into account that the Times can make serious yet temporary cost-cuts to "save the furniture" and later return to being the pre-eminent newspaper of record. Its true things are going digital, but many people still like the feel of a real, live newspaper in their hands...especially baby boomers - which are the majority. So if the Times cuts back (HELLO! $3-million dollar per year Baghdad bureau anyone??????) and stops trying to be all things to all people (Sections like Style, Science, Sports, Mutual Funds, Escapes, etc) and focuses on core competencies...then there is no reason why it need fold by this May or any May for that matter!
