So you're saying that every other Chinese athlete in every other sport should also be banned in the Olympics in 2012? That's ridiculous. Punish those who deserved it.
This is the dumbest story regarding the Olympics I have ever heard. During the opening ceremony, they announced that 56 kids were dressed to represent the 56 different ethnic groups found in China! Also, all of these ethnic groups are still under the big heading of "Chinese". Geez.
It's really bad for the Chinese to have lied about this. However, I don't believe the entire team should be stripped of their gold medals. The biggest culprit here is the Chinese government, and thus, they should be the ones taking the punishment.
Also, just a side note: the Chinese were better than the Americans in the women's team final - no one who watched it could've thought otherwise.
Ok first off, the "fake fireworks" was the broadcaster's problem. They were the ones who added the images to create the illusion of fireworks on display. Also, I feel so sad for the dancer who is seriously injured from rehearsal. However, I don't think it's a big deal that the Chinese didn't disclose it to the media. Honestly, how many injuries involving dancers do you see on the news or on the front pages of newspapers? It's really time to stop picking out all the downfalls about the Olympics in Beijing, and just enjoy the gathering and competition of the nations.
