Who said anything about you not being educated? I didn't, besides there are lots of educated people who lack linking common sense together (for the record, I'm not saying you, I don't know you). I'm not judging you, I'm judging your choices and actions based on your post and replies... both of which are not who you are but what you choose to follow or believe right now. There's no telling what you think feel or believe in ten years time. Hopefully you will realize one day that other people's lives don't effect our own unless we let them. I see ugly people kiss when I am out and around town, gay and strait, but I don't prevent them from procreating, getting married, or being affectionate in public, and ugly people are gross and wrong to me. Why don't I care? because it has nothing to do with my life. Just because you don't like something that has nothing to do with you're day-to-day life doesn't mean you doesn't mean you should have any influence over it's regulation. People's emotions, if not harming anyone, should not be regulated or cast aside by those with no vested interest in it. They are not in a position to understand the harm they are doing.
it's not common sense, it's hypocrisy. She can think and act any way she likes, it's a free country, just don't hide under the delusion that you are not homophobic just because you don't run Gay people down in the street with your car, or because you continue to go to your salon even though you are pretty sure the guy who washes your hair is gay. If you claim to accept a group of people you have to accept them in they same way you accept others. If passionate kissing is allowed in EVERY medium (daytime soaps, PG movies, sitcoms) for Strait couples, being against the EXACT situation with same sex characters is Homophobic. That is cut an dry, no two ways about it. Hell, last season on Mad Men a female character was raped by her husband, where were the Morality Police on that one?
And you know what I wasn't picking on her any more than I am picking on you. She made, as you did, a strong judgment on the internet that should never have been made if it was not up for scrutiny, there is a reply button for others, not just for you. If you believe there is any difference between a same sex kiss and a hetero kiss that, by definition, is homophobia. Continue to follow you own personal view if you wish to, just label it accordingly.
No offense dear, but you're a hypocrite. You say you are not homophobic but you say that two men kissing is offensive. Those two things contradict each other (unless kids aren't allowed to see a man and a woman kiss either, then I apologize) because that says "I can tolerate you, as long as you are not yourself". Homophobia is "an extreme and irrational aversion to homosexuality and homosexual people". Im not sure if you think you're kids will "turn gay" if they see two men kissing but since it doesn't work that way, that's makes that about as irrational as it gets. Would your kids ask about it, maybe, depending on their age but it's up to you to inform them when the time is right. That is our job as a parent. If they are young, they shouldn't be watching it. Most kids wouldn't even notice the difference between two men kissing or a man and a woman kissing. Views on "vulgarities" are passed on from people of influence in their lives, like family and friends. They would only question it if they see you uncomfortable. What you're really trying to say is YOU have a problem with it. Change the channel... and good luck to your child.
