So, get the fuck off this conspiracy shit or that Austin was texting or he fell asleep. You really think they don't do everything automatic? You all probably think that the Big Thunder Mountain vehicles are driven and steered by the Cast Members too. Or maybe the Rockin Roller Coaster. HA!
so here's the thing - 1. Guests were on it because it was Fourth of July and we were open late. Welcome to the world of Cast Members who work til 4am sometimes during holidays and monorails stay open 2 hours past park close. So suck on that. Check your facts before you go spouting conspiracy theories. 2. As someone mentioned, there are SO many system checks to prevent this from happening. TEXTING? Are you fucking serious? You really think that one distraction is what made this happen? If that were true, this would've happened years ago. Get off it. 3. It was NOT Austin's fault, at least not completely. That has not even been proven or close to it. The vehicles were traveling toward each other, and his vehicle was the one that was hit, not the other way around. Please just look at how the pictures show Austin's vehicle (the purple one) was completely annihilated by the pink one. If he had hit the other one, he still would've probably been alive. The other monorail would not have pushed him into the 2nd cab, crushing him instantly. It looks like many people were at fault and it was a freak accident, so so rare that it ended in tragedy. Some things were overrode and some systems failed. No one could've predicted this or really prepared for it.
